The C35 Flow Limiting Valve is a protective device, installed downstream of the Flow Meter, to limit the flow rate through the Flow Meter to the maximum Meter flow rate capacity. This becomes essential when the pump capacity is greater than the capacity of the Flow Meter or when a common pump is used for more than one Flow Meter. Download Literature in pdf format.

PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION
The Flow Limiting Valve basically consists of a body having a variable cross section. A spring loaded reciprocating piston is mounted on a spindle such that the edge of the piston & the body profile form a variable area orifice.
When the liquid flows across the orifice formed by the piston, it creates a differential pressure across the piston, which is proportional to the flow rate. This force causes the piston to move forward to reduce the annular orifice area thereby restricting the flow (see figure 1). The externally adjustable spring tension resists the correct orifice annular area to maintain the flow rate within the set point limit.
