Teltech Extended Counter Drives have been specially designed for applications where the system design either requires elevation of the Flow Meter Mechanical Counter & Preset Register for better visibility or to protect Counter & Preset Register components when metering hot, cold or corrosive liquids.Download Literature in pdf format.
DESIGN FEATURES
Positive low friction drive.
Extension length up to 3810 mm.
Choice of fixed Counter mounting in any one of the 16 pre-determined angles or 3600 free bi-directional rotation by swivel, even during operation.
Provision of Preset Register fitment for Preset Valve control through an adjustable linkage.
Provision for thermal barrier.
PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION
There are two basic types of Extended Counter Drives. The Short Extension with an adaptor height of 150 mm & the Long Extension which can be supplied up to a height of 3810 mm. The Short Extension version is generally recommended for metering applications involving hot, cold or corrosive liquids. It consists of an adaptor casting having a spindle which transmits the drive from the Flow Meter Calibrating Mechanism to the Counter. A bakelite plate fitted on the top of the Calibrating Mechanism base acts as the thermal barrier.
The long extension version is mainly used when operational & space requirements necessitate elevation of the Counter for better visibility. In this case, the drive to the Counter from the Flow Meter Calibrating Mechanism is by a steel coupling shaft, supported at both ends & housed in a steel tube for a smooth low friction transmission. The Counter can have a fixed or swivel mounting arrangement. For batching operation, fitment of a Preset Register is possible with valve control through an adjustable linkage.
APPLICATIONS
Easier visibility in gantry operations where Flow Meter is located at ground level.
Protection of Flow Meter Counter & Preset Register from corrosive liquid vapours.
Protection of Meter Counter, from heat or cold, when metering liquids at extreme temperatures.
